Meet Mark Gardiner
How many years have you been working as labor only carpenter with Cripps?
I started roughly 13 years ago on the Bungay site.
How did you get into carpentry?
When I left school, I started off working for my dad. He had a joinery workshop in Bungay which then motivated me to do a course and get on the tools myself. In 1997 I then started out on my own.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I love fitting kitchens and second fixing, they’re much more interesting and always different.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Socialise with friends and hang out with my kids.
What has been your favorite Cripps site?
Little Plumstead.
What’s your best tip for anyone looking to get into carpentry?
It’s nice to have a trade and it seems to be coming back in with more apprenticeships. My best tip would be to keep busy and stay at it as there’s always scope for progression.
